We are thrilled to announce that the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra is the recipient of the 2024 American Prize for Orchestral Performance. The prize, based on submissions of live recordings, recognizes the best performances by American orchestras in the previous calendar year. As The American Prize's founder and chief judge, David Katz, said upon awarding Maestro Daniel Hege the prize: “We hope that your selection as a winner will be as much of an inspiration to you as your music was to us.”
This award serves to confirm what you (and we) already know: that the Binghamton Philharmonic is an extraordinary professional ensemble, whose Maestro and musicians are among the very best in the nation.
We are so grateful for your continued support of our outstanding orchestra, which brings so much beauty, joy, and -- yes -- inspiration to our region.
Congratulations, Maestro and musicians!
