On May 4th, 2024, the Philharmonic will debut a new bass drum designed by ErgoSonic Percussion. This revolutionary instrument, custom-engineered to the specifications of othe orchestra, uses angled-shell technology to greatly expand resonance, rhythmic clarity, and directionality of sound. We are thrilled to introduce it to the public in a free demonstration at 6:30pm at the Forum Theatre, just before our 2023-2024 Season Finale, Other Worlds. ErgoSonic president Ken Turner and Philarmonic principal percussionist Sam Lazzara will dedicate the drum to the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra and the City of Binghamton.
