The Philharmonic Welcomes Its Newest Horn Player

Steve Harmon, a young white man in black holding a French horn

The Philharmonic is delighted to welcome the newest member of our horn section, Steven Harmon. Steven made his professional debut with the San Francisco Symphony at the age of 21, and he currently holds the position of Principal Horn with the Reading Symphony Orchestra, Princeton Symphony Orchestra, Symphony New Hampshire, Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, and the Fenimore Chamber Orchestra. In addition, he performs regularly throughout the Northeast with the Albany Symphony Orchestra, the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, The New World Symphony, The Orchestra Now, New Haven Symphony, the Allentown Symphony, and many others.

Originally from Santa Monica, California, Steven began his horn career at age twelve, and holds degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, the Yale School of Music, and Bard College. He now lives in the Hudson Valley, and, when he is not playing his horn, his favorite things to do are spending time with his friends, exploring the outdoors, and finding good coffee to drink.

Welcome, Steven! You'll find lots of good coffee here!
