Nostalgia, Loss, and the Great War in Elgar's Cello Concerto

Come to a free lecture-demonstration on Sir Edward Elgar, classical music, and the First World War. Cello soloist Annie Jacobs-Perkins, who will be performing Elgar's famous cello concerto with the Philharmonic on September 30, and Director of Education Julia Grella O'Connell will be discussing this iconic work (as featured in the recent Academy Award-nominated film Tár) and the ways it reflects British culture in the post-World War I period.
