Debrah Devine, Camp Director and Principal Teacher
Violinist Debrah Devine performs regularly with many regional orchestras including the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra, Catskill Symphony Orchestra, Glens Falls Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes in addition to freelancing and chamber music projects across the region. During summer months, Debrah serves as Principal Violin 2 at the MostArts Festival. She is a founding member of the Castalia Quartet, based in Oneonta NY.
As a dedicated pedagogue and coach in the Leatherstocking region of New York, Debrah has over 25 years of teaching experience. She recently began her 6th season as conductor of the Little Delaware Youth Ensemble Preparatory Orchestra in Oneonta NY and 2nd season as conductor of the Youth Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes Junior String Ensemble in Corning NY.
Patricia O'Connell, Camp Teacher
Owego native, Patricia O'Connell, has performed in and around the Southern Tier over 50 years and is still an active recitalist, soloist and ensemble musician. Professionally a French horn player, she also sings, plays flute, organ and euphonium. Mrs. O’Connell has performed extensively with brass and woodwind quintets. She formerly performed with The Brass Menagerie and currently performs with Cascadilla Brass and The Fairwinds Woodwind Quintet.
Retiring from public school teaching in 2010, she is still in demand as a coach for students preparing to take auditions or perform in solo and ensemble settings. Mrs. O'Connell retired as Director of Bands from Vestal High School and also taught bands in the LaFargeville Central School and the Newark Valley School Districts.
Mrs. O'Connell is listed in Who's Who of American Teachers, American Women and American Musicians. She is a member of American Federation of Musicians Local 380.
