The Binghamton Philharmonic will be holding auditions in February 13-16 2020 to fill the following vacancies:

Auditions will be assigned via email after January 30, 2020. 

Audition Information

Auditions will be held at the Broome County Forum Theatre (236 Washington St, Binghamton NY 13901). Auditions will take place behind a screen. An assigned practice space will be available approx. 45 minutes prior to scheduled audition time. If the number of applicants becomes overwhelming, the Binghamton Philharmonic reserves the right to screen candidates based on the strength of their resume. If a position is filled from within the orchestra, the resulting vacancy may be offered to a runner-up. Winning candidates will be offered services and a probationary contract on May 15, 2020. 

About the BPO

The Binghamton Philharmonic is a per-service, regional orchestra that performs approx. 28 services per year. Musicians must accept 45% of services offered to them to retain their tenured status. The current pay scale for section positions is $95 per service. The pay scale for Asst. Principal positions is $104.50 per service. Pay scale for Principal positions is $118.75 per service. The BPO pays mileage at the rate of $0.36/mile up to 125 miles round trip with the first 40 miles unpaid, each day of services (max $30.60 per day). For musicians who reside 100+ miles away, we offer housing within a host home, or place 2 musicians per room in a hotel if a host home is not available. Mileage compensation for musicians 100+ miles away will be $61.20 for the concert run. Please note, applicants who are not U.S. citizens must provide proof of their eligibility to work in the United States prior to accepting a position.
